James Paul Moravec, the creative force behind The Crossing Crew, is now releasing projects under his name. As a non-performing songwriter, his prolific output and hopeful storytelling own a unique space in the modern folk and Americana music genres.

 

With over 500 songs to his name, Moravec’s work, including his 2024 albums The Wonder Time and Starlight Lullaby, showcase a versatile blend of folk, indie pop, and roots music that’s both introspective and uplifting. 

 

Moravec delivers music that’s organic, emotionally resonant, and infused with a hopeful spirit, drawing comparisons to The Avett Brothers and The Band. James also crosses multiple music genres including pop/rock in the Album "Hit Record," and Singer/Songwriter genre in the album"Starlight Lullaby" 

 

James Paul’s songwriting philosophy, as he describes, lets the song idea lead the way, avoiding formulaic heartbreak ballads in favor of narratives about resilience and love that thrives. This contrarian approach results in music that feels fresh and personal, resonating with listeners seeking authenticity over mass appeal. While he does not write for Sync (commercial or film,) James had some work picked up and used in commercials.
